Belgian’s love Chocolate

Calling Belgium a chocolate loving country will be an understatement in its purest form. Belgians love chocolate, and there is no room for debate there. It’s strange to even imagine what goes on in their mind whilst picking their favorite chocolate. Too many to choose from, right? Undoubtedly, Belgian chocolates are one of the finest in the world, and with good reason. Its authentic and distinctive taste is largely contributed by the African cocoa beans, which are stronger and more assertive than many other counterparts in the world.

Daily social life in Belgium might be unimaginable without chocolate. Starting right at breakfast, the thick, smooth chocolate paste that is smeared generously over a slice of bread is a collective household indulgence. Some might even call it the Belgian equivalent to peanut butter. Chocolate milk, equally popular among kids and adults is a dark, strong chocolate flavor, and probably the best one might ever have the privilege to taste. In Belgium, no one ever shows up at a relative or friends’ house empty handed, even for the most casual visits. A beautifully wrapped and beribboned box containing fine chocolate pralines is a must. Alas, it is safe to say that Belgium is among the largest chocolate consuming countries in the world.

“For us, chocolate is a devouring passion, a sweet addiction, and our national pride.”
